Verónica Bujeiro (LA TRISTEZA DE LOS CÍTRICOS) Verónica Bujeiro nació en la Ciudad de México en 1976. Es egresada de la Licenciatura en Lingüística de la Escuela Nacional de Antropología e Historia (ENAH) y del Curso de Guión Cinematográfico del Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica. Finalista en el 2002 del Premio Nacional de Dramaturgia Joven “Gerardo Mancebo del Castillo” con la obra El sueño de la Razón. Su obra La Trisrteza de los Cítricos se estrenó en el 2006 y fue publicada en la colección de “Los Libros de la Capilla”. Ha sido becaria del IMCINE, FONCA (Jóvenes Creadores) y la Fundación para las Letras Mexicanas.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hugo Alfredo Hinojosa Diaz (DESIERTOS) (Tijuana, B. C. 1977) es dramaturgo, narrador, traductor y ensayista. Realizó estudios de Filosofía en la Universidad Autónoma de Baja California y de teatro en el Centro de Artes Escénicas del Noroeste del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes. Participó en varios talleres de actuación con Luis de Tavira y José Caballero y de dirección con Ludwik Margules. Como actor ha participado en una veintena de montajes. Como dramaturgo se formó en los talleres de Jaime Chabaud y David Olguín. Es autor del libro Orillas (2004). Otros textos dramáticos suyos han sido recogidos en las antologías Teatro del Norte 4 (2003) y Teatro de la Gruta VI (2006). Ha sido becario del Fondo Estatal para la Cultura y las Artes de Baja California (2003-2004); del FONCA-Banff Centre for the Arts en Alberta, Canadá (2004); de la Fundación para las Letras Mexicanas (2005-2007). Fue finalista del Premio Nacional de Dramaturgia Joven Gerardo Mancebo del Castillo 2005 y obtuvo el segundo lugar en el Premio Nacional de Relato Breve «Mano de obra» 2007. Colabora periódicamente en distintas revistas de circulación nacional.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Paola Izquierdo (PRÍNCIPES, PRINCESAS Y OTROS BICHOS) Egresada de la Escuela Nacional de Arte Teatral del INBA. Dos veces becaria del FONCA, categoría Intérpretes. Escribe, actúa y produce sus propios espectáculos de teatro-cabaret. Ha Participado en diversos festivales y muestras de teatro en México, incluyendo la Muestra Nacional de Teatro; y en el festival del Theater und der Ruhr en Mulheim, Alemania. Fue maestra adjunta de la materia de actuación en el Centro Universitario de Teatro (CUT) de la UNAM, además de impartir diversos talleres y asesorías. Fue Coordinadora de Producción Ejecutiva de la Coordinación Nacional de Teatro, además de trabajar como productora ejecutiva de diversos espectáculos.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jorge Celaya (VAN GOGH IN NEW YORK) EN MÉXICO, el Sonorense Jorge Celaya, es miembro del Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte, tiene la licenciatura en la Escuela de Arte Dramático del INBA en el D.F. Es actor, dramaturgo, director, experimentado maestro de actuación y poeta. Autor de 21 textos teatrales, de los cuales a dirigido 8, se le han publicado 8 y ha actuado en un sinnúmero de puestas en escena y varias películas y telenovelas. Además ha recibido varias nominacionesy premios nacionales e internacionales por su obra tanto como director y dramaturgo: el Plural, el Salvador Novo y el Nacional de Dramaturgia entre otros. Sus textos se dirigen constantemente en el interior del país y en la ciudad de México.

EN NUEVA YORK, Celaya a tenido una residencia en el Writers Room , el 2000, para escribir Van Gogh en NY; ganó el prestigioso premio “Nuestras Voces”2001 con su obra Búfalo Herido (también becada por NYSCA para su traducción al inglés el mismo año con respaldo del Writers Room); la obra se estrenó el 2004 con gran éxito en el teatro de la Compañía de Repertorio Español (off brodway) producida por la MetLife Foundation y la puesta en escena ganó dos premios ACE 2005 ; Actualmente Celaya cubre una residencia en Lark Development Center para traducir su obra Van Gogh en NY.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Andy Bragen (Translator, LA TRISTEZA DE LOS CÍTRICOS) a graduate of Brown University’s MFA Program in Literary Arts,is the recipient of a 2006-2007 Jerome Fellowship from the Playwrights Center in Minneapolis. Other honors include an Ensemble Studio Theatre/Sloan Commission, a New Voices Fellowship from EST, a Dramatists Guild Fellowship, and residencies at Millay Colony and Blue Mountain Center. Andy attended the 2004 Seven Devils Playwrights Conference where he worked on Spuyten Duyvil. Greater Messapia received an Equity Showcase Production at Queens Theatre in the Park in March 2004 as part of the theatre’s Immigrant Voices Project. Sweet Dreams of Paris received a workshop production in February 2005 as part of the Brown/Trinity New Plays Festival. Food Porn received a workshop production at Brown in April 2006. His co-translation of Yukiko Motoya’s Vengeance can Wait was presented at the 2006 Playlabs conference. Susana Cook (Translator, PRÍNCIPES, PRINCESAS Y OTROS BICHOS) Born in Argentina, Susana Cook is a performer, playwright and director who works in political theatre. She graduated from the National School of Drama in Buenos Aires and also trained in theater in Paris, before moving to the United States in 1991. Susana directs all her shows and performs in them with her company. Her current work focuses on parallels between the dictatorship in Argentina and the present U.S. administration. Concerned with issues such as racism, classism, nationalism, and homophobia, Susana creates powerful political satires that use humor as a tool for exposing the rationales used to justify oppressions against minorities. Susana has staged her plays in numerous venues in New York City, including Dixon Place, PS. 122, W.O.W Cafe Theater, Ubu Rep, Theater for the New City, The Puffin Room, and The Kitchen. Her shows have also been featured internationally in Spain, Argentina, and Puerto Rico. She has been invited for speaking engagements, workshops, and performances at Yale University, Barnard, Columbia University, Oberlin, Hampshire College, Williams College, NYU's Hemispheric Institute, and the University of Michigan. For her theatrical innovation and excellence, Susana has received awards from New York Foundation for the Arts, the Astraea Foundation, Arts International, the Bronx Museum of the Arts, and the Puffin Foundation. She was commissioned by Dixon Place to produce the plays 100 Years of Attitude in 2004 and The Values Horror Show in 2005.
