Theater in Translation (TINT) Initiative

The Program

The Theater in Translation (TINT) Initiative is a group of American collaborators made up of playwrights, translators and advocates of work in translation who meet annually to discuss and develop strategies for global exchange in the theater. We want to increase the volume and quality of this kind and help to advance them toward production.

The Impact

In January 2014 and January 2015, TINT met with members of The FENCE (a group of playwrights, translators and advocates from around the world) and were hosted by the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center and The Lark to develop a plan for the future. Members share experiences, explore issues related to theater translation, and collaborate on the process of developing scripts for translation.

The Selection Process

This initiative brings together people interested in new plays in translation support to exchange ideas, practices, cultural perspectives and personal experiences.

This program is currently on hiatus.
