No More Sad Things
by Hansol Jung
Hansol Jung was born in Korea, raised in South Africa, graduated from Yale University and after spending time with her sister, who lives in Hawaii, wrote a play about a thirty-two year-old woman from Akron, Ohio, who runs away to the Land of Aloha. There on a beach she meets a beautiful cliff-diver. They share a powerful connection, but it’s definitely complicated. NO MORE SAD THINGS was an audience favorite in last season’s 5X5 Reading Series for its fresh sense of humor, original music and dreamlike inventiveness. Hansol is a bold new voice in the theater: intelligent, thought provoking and unabashedly contemporary. We are proud to be working with such a gifted playwright at the beginning of what promises to be a long and celebrated career. Please join us in welcoming this remarkable new talent to our stage. NO MORE SAD THINGS is a Co-World Premiere with Sideshow Theater Company, Chicago, IL.
