Lauren Kiele DeLeon

Lauren Kiele DeLeon is a recent graduate from SUNY Purchase College with a BA in Theatre & Performance Directing and minor in Playwriting. As a Miami born and raised Latina theater artist, Lauren’s work tends to focus on theater for social change, minority representation, and the female presenting body on stage. At Purchase, Lauren directed many productions in collaboration with different organizations including Planned Parenthood, My Sister’s Place, Standing Rock, and a non-profit she helped co-found called Mission Flint. Some of her directing and design credits include shows such as The Vagina Monologues, City Theatre Next Generation, Men On Boats, FM, Let Me Explain…, Austentation, and Ladies of the Land (Drama League). As a playwright, Lauren’s plays have been produced in Florida with the One-Minute Play Festival and New Playwrights Festival, Virginia at the Hollins University Play Festival, and New York at the Drama Book Shop. In addition to her work at The Lark, Lauren is an Assistant Director at Theater for the New City with their Summer Street Musical, a collaborator for The Great Room Co. and Brunch Theatre Co., and a Producing Intern at Leve Productions.
