María del Mar Fernández González is an actress, dancer, and acrobat from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She is a recent graduate from Emerson College in Boston, MA with a BFA in Theatre & Performance. Previously, María served as an Assistant to the Casting Director at CP Casting, as well as an Administrative Assistant at ArtsEmerson's Engagement Department. She has recently immersed herself in being a social media influencer, while finding new ways to explore the world of marketing and communications. Former artistic training includes Interlochen Arts Academy, Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, New York Film Academy, London Dramatic Academy, and New England Center of Circus Arts. Her hard work and determination led her to be a 2017 Forbes 30 Under 30 Scholar and an Emerson College Purple Key Leadership Society Recipient. As an artist, she is passionate about narratives that represent diverse points of view regarding culture and language. As a trilingual immigrant, she values the importance of placing ourselves in others' shoes in order to better understand and respect one another. She's thrilled to join The Lark in their work towards empowering artists to share their stories.
