Merle Duskin Kailas
Merle Duskin Kailas, President of MK Group Productions, is a leader, producer, financial expert, and fundraiser with over 40 years experience in the corporate and non-profit sectors. Prior to launching her own company she was the Executive Director of the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation; during her tenure, over $15 million was granted to support an international group of world-class scientists whose collaborative efforts focused on speeding the pace of cancer research. Previously, she spent a decade as Managing Director at PBS’s flagship station Thirteen/WNET New York where she was responsible for budgeting, production, and delivery of the station’s entire Emmy and Peabody Award-winning programming portfolio including Great Performances, Nature, American Masters, and Cyberchase. Her results-driven business background also includes the role of Vice President and COO/CFO of Globalvision, Inc. a multi-media production company, consulting for KPMG, investing venture capital with Bradford Ventures Ltd., and investment banking with Fahnestock & Company in Paris, France.
As a longtime advocate for a programmatically strong and fiscally responsible non-profit community, she currently sits on the Board of En Garde Arts, the Literacy Network of South Berkshire, and the College of Arts & Sciences Dean’s Advisory Council of the University at Buffalo. She has also donated her time to serve as Chair of the Board of the Cherry Lane Theatre and Soho Rep, Chair of the Development committee on the Board of Directors of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA NY), and as Treasurer of New York Women in Film and Television. Ms. Kailas holds a Master’s degree in Public and Private Management from the Yale School of Management.
