Global Exchange Apprentice
Mona Moriya is a recent graduate from Emerson College with a BFA in Acting. During her time at Emerson, Mona served as president of Asian Students for Intercultural Awareness and as a founding board member of Flawless Brown, Emerson’s women of color artists collective where she combined her passion for political advocacy and storytelling leading to her being awarded “Student Leader of the Year” as well as an induction into the Purple Key Leadership Society. In addition to performing in mainstage productions, Mona was able to cultivate her passion for playwriting where she worked on her full length Wild Asian Girls as well as Nia, a poetry play that was presented at The Orchard Project through their Core Company apprenticeship. Growing up as first-generation Japanese-American, Mona has always been passionate about international exchange and the exploration of various languages on stage and how that influences the way people perceive one another. She is beyond thrilled to be joining The Lark team as their Global Exchange Apprentice this season!
