Stuart Gold joined The Lark's Board of Trustees in 2017. Before his retirement, for 41 years Stuart was a trial lawyer at the law firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP. Stuart represented many clients with their First Amendment, antitrust, and other legal issues, including, CBS Inc., HBO, Time Warner Inc., American Express, Lifetime Entertainment, the School for American Ballet, and Columbia University. He has argued before the Supreme Court of the United States. In his pro bono work Stuart has represented Louise Harris, who was on death row in Alabama until he successfully vacated her death sentence. Stuart has served on the Boards of the Legal Aid Society, New York Lawyers for the Public Interest, and The City and Country School, as well as the Advisory Board for the Midtown Community Court.
