Rinat Tashimov was born in Siberia, in the Tatar village of Intsiss. Before starting school, he had not spoken a word of Russian. Rinat has worked as an actor since the age of 15, and graduated from Omsk State University, FM with a specialty in Dostoevsky. He lives and works in Ekaterinburg, and is an actor in the Kalyada Theater and director of the Center for Contemporary Drama. In three years of working as a director, Rinat has staged 12 productions, both of contemporary and classical repertoire, on various stages of Ekaterinburg. He began writing plays in 2013, because director Nikolay Kolyada wasn’t looking for actors to join his troupe, so Rinat decided to enroll in the Ekaterinburg State Theatre Institute, specializing in literary work, where Nikolay Kolyada teaches. He was then expelled in his second year due to absenteeism (he was on tour in France at the time). He has written three plays which have received first play in a number of international dramatic competitions. In addition, Rinat has been short-listed in “Lubimovka” and was placed in the top three winners of the contest “Kulminatsiya” [Culmination] Play of 2016”. Rinat is also the Creative Director and teacher of the Kinoluk Workshop, where anyone can learn the basics of film production.
