The Hodder Fellowship

Deadline: September 15

The Hodder Fellowship will be given to artists of exceptional promise to pursue independent projects at Princeton University during the 2021-2022 academic year. The Hodder is designed to provide Fellows with the "studious leisure" to undertake significant new work. Hodder Fellows spend an academic year at Princeton, but no formal teaching is involved. An $84,000 stipend is provided for this 10-month appointment as a Visiting Fellow. LEARN MORE >


Nancy Dean Lesbian Playwriting Award

Deadline: September 15

The Open Meadows Foundation is creating the Nancy Dean Lesbian Playwright Award in honor of Nancy Dean, which comes with a $5000 award. The award honors a woman who was at the forefront of Lesbian, queer, gay, genderqueer, gender-nonconforming, trans, intersex and people of color movements.  Open Meadows Foundation understands people have their own language for their gender and sexuality, and are open to submission from people who are lesbian, queer or gay, trans and nonbinary. Theatre Viscera Podcast Season

Deadline: September 25 -OR- once 100 submissions have been received

As the situation with the Coronavirus and COVID-19 continues to develop, Theatre Viscera is moving to virtual work to continue its commitment to telling queer stories. Theatre Viscera is therefore accepting submissions for its 2021 Podcast season. Submissions may be full length plays, a collection of one acts totally no more than 100 minutes reading time, or a collection of 10 minute plays totally no more than 100 minutes reading time. LEARN MORE >


Gingold Theatrical Group's Speakers' Corner

Deadline: September 30

This season, under the guidance of GTG’s Associate Director Ilana Becker, Speakers’ Corner will meet late October, 2020 through June, 2021. Named after the corner of London’s Hyde Park where George Bernard Shaw and other political speakers have delivered speeches since 1855, GTG’s Speakers’ Corner brings together six to ten writers who spend the year exploring a specific Shaw play and writing new work in response to that text. LEARN MORE >


Adirondack Theatre Festival

ATF is now accepting play submissions for production in its next season. ATF is a professional not-for-profit summer theater located in Glens Falls, New York. ATF strives to challenge, entertain, and nourish its audience through the development and production of new and contemporary musicals and plays. Playwrights First Best New Play Award

Playwrights First is an organization which recognizes, rewards, and advances playwrights of unusual promise. The Best New Play Award will include a $1,000 prize, award listing of playwright and play title on Playwrights First's website, and a professional reading in NYC when feasible. LEARN MORE >
