The Lark's Jerome New York Fellowship
Deadline: July 31, 2017
The Lark’s Jerome New York Fellowship provides substantial artistic and financial support to an emerging writer of extraordinary promise and vision through an intensive two-year residency that provides resources and guidance to generate and develop a significant body of work. Fellows receive $40,000 over their two year residency, as well as a $5,000 Opportunity Fund for the purposes of travel, research, or independent workshops.

The Apothetae at Lark Fellowship
Deadline: June 15, 2017
The Lark is accepting applications for the pilot round of its Apothetae at Lark Playwriting Fellowship program, supported by the Time Warner Foundation, which includes a two-year residency for a Disabled Writer and a cash award of $40,000. The Fellow will work on artistic projects through an individually-tailored program of Lark play development programs, and develop relationships with other theatermakers.

The Civilians' R&D Group
Deadline: June 15, 2017
The Civilians' R&D Group meets biweekly for nine months, during which time each artist or team of artists develops a new piece of theater through a creative investigation of a topic chosen by each artist. The creative process may include interviewing, community engagement, research, or other experimental methods of inquiry. Led by R&D Program Director (and Lark staff member!) Megan McClain, the artists share and discuss their methodologies and the resulting work. The process will culminate in a FINDINGS series in May of 2017, when the groups present their works-in-progress to the public.

The Playwrights Realm Scratchpad Series
Deadline: July 16, 2017
It's a double feature of submission opportunities at The Playwrights Realm, also now accepting applications for the Scratchpad Series from May 17 - July 16, 2017. Scratchpad participants will spend a week in New York City for a developmental reading of their play with top-notch professional collaborators—director, cast, and The Realm’s artistic staff. If the playwright is based outside of New York, The Realm will also facilitate travel and housing for the workshop.

Phoenix Theatre New American Theatre Festival
Deadline: August 1, 2017
The new works festival runs March 5 - March 18 of 2018. The festival presents four staged/concert readings of new, unproduced plays or musicals as well as a night of new short plays and a Composer/Lyricist Cabaret.
