Princess Grace Awards Playwriting Fellowship

Deadline: March 15, 2018

Dedicated to Identifying and Assisting Emerging Artists in Theater, Dance, and Film, the Princess Grace Awards Program gives artists, who are at outset of their careers or early stages of professional development, the financial assistance and encouragement to focus on artistic excellence. One playwright will be selected to receive a grant in the amount of $7,500 and a one-season artistic residency at New Dramatists. Applications for Playwrights' Week 2018 are OPEN! Playwrights’ Week, The Lark’s Open Access Program, provides development opportunities for new and diverse voices for the theater by identifying and advancing promising plays that reveal unheard and vital perspectives. Our support criteria emphasizes ambitious, fresh, playful, engaging, energizing, provocative, powerful, and theatrical work by writers with clear artistic goals who are open to a collaborative development process. Writers selected for Playwrights’ Week are provided with ten hours of rehearsal and a public staged reading. MORE INFO

Liberation Theatre Company's Writing Residency Program 2018-2019

The Writing Residency Program furthers LTC's commitment to the development of new Black playwrights for the American theater, and will select four early-career playwrights and provide them with dramaturgical and professional support over a nine-month period, during which time they will each complete a new full-length play. Selected playwrights will attend monthly group meetings; meet individually with LTC’s Artistic Director and staff; and have the resources of a director and professional actors during two table readings. LTC will provide access to theater tickets (when available) and seek to make introductions with artistic leaders to assist playwrights in advancing their careers. The Residency will conclude in February 2019 with public readings of each playwright’s finished play. Upon successful completion of the program, each playwright will receive a $500 honorarium. MORE INFO

Athena Project Plays in Progress Series

Scripts Accepted March 3-April 15, 2018

This Series will take place in Denver over the course of approximately March-April 2019, as part of a larger arts festival celebrating the voices of women artists. Three to four new plays will be selected based on an anonymous review process, and given a dramaturg, director, cast, and workshop level production. All plays from the PIP Series 2019 will be considered for the mainstage production in September of 2019. MORE INFO

Cairo International Festival for Contemporary and Experimental Theatre

Organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Arab Republic of Egypt, CIFCET's mission is to create a forum for communication and dialogue among diverse populations and communities.
