Mabou Mines

Deadline: September 25

Mabou Mines’ performance initiative SUITE/Space provides artistic advisement, rehearsal space, and public performances, to artists of color that share Mabou Mines’ commitment to breaking new ground in form and content. SUITE/Space is open to artists of color from historically underrepresented communities who exhibit a commitment to experimentation and a collaborative creative process. Artists receive a $ 2,500 stipend and a 50-50 box office split, 30 hours of rehearsal space, and more. LEARN MORE

The New Harmony Project

The New Harmony Project is accepting applications for its annual Spring Conference, of un-produced stage play scripts, musicals, screenplays and teleplays that sensitively and truthfully explore the positive aspects of life. The New Harmony Project provides a creative community, artistic support, modest stipend, and all meals, travel and housing are covered.  LEARN MORE

NYC Women's Fund for Media, Music and Theater

Deadline: October 1

Originally launched as the “Made in NY” Women’s Film, TV and Theatre Fund, the fund is a signature initiative by MOME to address the underrepresentation of all who identify as women in the entertainment industries. Grants of up to $50,000 will be awarded for Theater Production projects. Projects are eligible if they feature a strong female or female-identified perspective; and/or include a female or female-identified director, producer, or writing credit. Bronx Council on the Arts

Deadline: October 7

Arts Fund (AF) develops Bronx artists and small arts organizations through its support of high-quality arts projects that engage Bronx audiences in a diverse array of artistic works in all disciplines, genres, and styles. Bronx-based individual artists, artist collectives and 501c3 arts organizations with an organizational budget below $100,000 may apply for grants of up to $5,000 that contribute to the cultural life of the borough. LEARN MORE

Great Plains Theatre Conference

Deadline: October 15 OR when 1,000 plays have been received

The Great Plains Theatre Conference provides opportunities for participants to interact with and have their work seen by a host of national theater professionals, and includes Theatre WorkShops, Luncheon Panels, and readings. Dramaturgy is provided for each playwright, and five emerging designers engage in the play development process as well. Twenty plays will be selected for PlayLabs. All playwrights who are selected will receive a $500 stipend, travel/airfare, and eight nights lodging. LEARN MORE

A Blade of Grass Fellowship

Deadline: October 16

A Blade of Grass Fellowship supports socially engaged artists with $20,000 in minimally restricted funds, comprehensive written field research reports that utilize action research methodology, an expenses paid two-day orientation retreat in New York City to engage a cohort of peer artists and A Blade of Grass staff and board, and more. Queens Council on the Arts

The Artist Commissioning Program (ACP) awards Queens-based choreographers, playwrights, and composers $10,000each towards the creation of a new, original work. The ACP supports projects that add to the canon of American art by telling an untold story of underrepresented person(s) relevant to neighborhoods in Queens. LEARN MORE
