The Arthur Kopit Artist Fund
Playwright and two-time Pulitzer Prize Finalist Arthur Kopit has always been a critical force at The Lark. For nearly two decades, he has supported a wide range of playwrights at all stages of their careers, as both a mentor and as a fierce advocate. The Lark is creating this fund in his name to ensure it always remains a safe space for artists.
The goal of The Arthur Kopit Artist Fund is to support the sustainability of The Lark as a space for visionary playwrights.
The Lark will use this fund to provide crucial resources such as workshops, retreats, dramaturgical support, and stipends for writers, so they can develop the ambitious work they may otherwise not have seen to completion.
Patrons of The Fund will be acknowledged:
On The Lark’s website and in all programs at The Lark’s public events. In addition, The Lark will host an event to celebrate the inauguration of the Fund. Invitees will include Arthur Kopit, playwrights and core Lark artists, and Patrons of The Fund.
