The México/United States Convening
As The Lark continues to strive towards fostering new and exciting work from all around the world, core stakeholders of The México/United States Playwright Exchange Program will gather at The Lark to discuss the future of the program and related collaborations between both countries. This event will mark the 10th anniversary of the program. Since 2006, this exchange has been bringing together playwrights, directors and actors from México and the U.S. to work on translations of plays from and into both languages, and build ongoing artistic relationships and projects.
At this gathering, we’ll convene a small group of artists and leaders in the field who have been core partners in The Lark’s México/US Playwright Exchange, or who are currently engaged in initiatives dedicated to the advancement of theatrical collaboration between artists in the U.S. and Mexico (and Latin America in general). This important think tank will help to reflect on our successes, envision the future of the program (and what it –and the field– needs), and articulate action steps to move the program, and related collaborations, forward.
