Monument (4 Sisters)

Monument (4 Sisters)

A Studio Retreat Reading

Three sisters go on intertwined journeys through community exile, a writers room, a remote coral reef, and through the absence of a fourth sister whom they hope to somehow save. How do we keep going when something impossibly precious seems lost forever? Is there any hope for building resiliency, or for coming back after devastation? (Also, there are animated anthropomorphized sloths who also go on a journey).

Sam Chanse is a 2019-21 Venturous Playwright Fellow at The Lark.

'Monument, or 4 Sisters (A Sloth Play)' was also developed through The Lark's Roundtable program.
