The Lark Timeline
Pocantico Reading of Girl Shakes Loose Her Skin
By Zakiyyah Alexander and Imani Uzuri
directed by May Adrales, with poetry by Sonia Sanchez
GIRL finds herself back in New York City, single, jobless, and forced to start all over again. As she struggles to redefine this new reality, she confronts the ghosts of relationships left behind, and places she tried to forget about. Sometimes finding your way home is funny, sometimes it’s painful, but either way, you have no choice. A 3 city musical journey about growing up when you’re already grown.
A public reading at the Pocantico Center on August 25 is supported by the Rockefeller Brothers Fund.
